OPP Investigating Theft of Fishing Gear from Campground

SIOUX LOOKOUT – The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft of fishing equipment from a local Campground on Highway 72. Between July 14 and 15, 2018, unknown suspect(s) attended a local Campground and used tools and removed hardware from a parked Crestliner 1859 boat.

The unknown suspect(s) removed a Minn Kota I Pilot Electric Trolling Motor Serial Number WW8H2548530 valued at approximately $2000, two GLC batteries (marine) valued at approximately $454 (no serial number available), and a Hummingbird 798 Fish Finder valued at approximately $1500 (no serial number available).  The unknown suspect(s) left the scene with the items. The investigation is continuing.

The OPP is requesting anyone with information about this incident to call Sioux Lookout Detachment at 807-737-2020 or 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
