THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – There has been speculation that Ken Boshcoff, the former MP, former Mayor and Councillor for the City of Thunder Bay would throw his hat in the ring and run for Mayor in the 2018 election.
In a posting on his Facebook page today, Mr Boshcoff states that he will not be running.
“Thank you for all your encouragement over the past few years to become your Mayor. For me, that has been most validating to my time in public service.
“However, after much thought, it is with difficulty that I must tell you that I will not be running in this election. We are all aware that our city needs a person of experience, balance, integrity and commitment. It is not a job for anyone who does not a long proven record in governance, leadership, or decision-making.
“Knowing those criteria I am certain someone will come forward. I will continue to serve my community as a volunteer, organizer, or project manager for people-based charities and causes. I do have to attend to some health issues, (not life-threatening).
“You know I greatly appreciate your friendship and support, and I look forward to working with you on community causes in the future”.
