KENORA – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued Heat Warnings for the western portion of Northwestern Ontario.

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
  • Savant Lake – Sturgeon Lake
  • Sioux Lookout – Eastern Lac Seul
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre
  • Ear Falls – Perrault Falls – Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park

The weather service reports that a prolonged period with maximum daily temperatures near 29 degrees will continue Friday, however, cooler air is expected to arrive Friday night or Saturday.

People are advised to drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. You should also reduce your heat risk by scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
