SIOUX LOOKOUT – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement over forecasted rainfall amounts.

4:10 AM EDT Saturday 19 May 2018
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Savant Lake – Sturgeon Lake
  • Armstrong – Auden – Wabakimi Park
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre
  • Ignace – English River

General rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm with localized near 50 mm.

A slow-moving front over Northwestern Ontario lingers over the area. Significant showers continue from regions east of Lake of the Woods to the Armstrong area. This band is slowly migrating eastwards overnight into Saturday morning and gradually weakening.

Additional rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm are expected tonight. This will bring rainfall totals for this event of 30 to locally 50 mm since Thursday night. Rawson Lake to the east of Kenora has received a total of 52.1 mm as of 3 AM CDT. Dryden has received 46.5 mm.
