Kenora – Drug Charges Laid Against Three Kenora Residents

Opp CruiserKENORA, ON – Regional – Three individuals have been arrested and face charges related to drug-related offences in Kenora. The arrests came as a result of a combined effort that included the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) with the assistance of the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP K9 Unit, and the Treaty Three Police Service has charged three individuals with numerous drug-related offences following arrests in Kenora on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the two police services.

The investigation focused on methamphetamine trafficking in and around the Kenora area. The investigation concluded with the arrest of the three individuals.

Seized during the investigation was what is suspected to be: Crystal methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, Cannabis Marihuana, Canadian Currency and other drug paraphernalia items used in the trafficking of Crystal Methamphetamine. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $31 000.

As a result of the investigation the following people have been charged:

Joey NICOLAS age 34, of Kenora, has been charged with;

•          Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)

•         Trafficking in Methamphetamine s. 5(1) CDSA

•         Possession of Shatter (resin) for the Purpose of Trafficking s. 5(2) CDSA

•          Possession of Cocaine s. 4(1) CDSA.

•          Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – s. 4(1) CDSA.

•          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime s. 354(1)(a) Criminal Code (CC).

•         Fail to Comply with Recognizance s. 145(3) CC (three counts)

Crystal MCDONALD age 28 of Kenora has been charged with;

•          Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)

•         Trafficking in Methamphetamine s. 5(1) CDSA

•         Possession of Shatter (resin) for the Purpose of Trafficking s. 5(2) CDSA

•          Possession of Cocaine s. 4(1) CDSA.

•          Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – s. 4(1) CDSA.

Kayla JOLICOUER age 27 of Kenora has been charged with;

•          Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA)
