Sioux Lookout – Busy Weekend for OPP

The OPP along with all Ontarian with common sense are asking that people keep a watchful eye to keep impaired driver off our roads.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated ninty-eight calls for service from Friday, February 2 at 4:00 pm, to Monday, February 5, 2018, at 8 am.

Of the 77 incidents, there were:

  •  One impaired care and control of a motor vehicle
  • Three bail violations
  • Eight assaults
  •  Seven family or domestic disputes
  • 11 trespassing/unwanted person incidents
  • 12 RIDE checks were conducted
  • 17 Liquor Licence Act offenses

One of the assaults involved a 30-year-old female from Muskrat Dam FN who is charged with assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault and failing to comply with her undertaking on February 3, 2018. The victims of the assaults were transported to the hospital where they revived medical treatment. The accused is in custody and scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout court next on February 9, 2018.

A 19-year-old Thunder Bay male was charged with impaired care and control or a motor vehicle on February 4, 2018. The male was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout court on February 20, 2018, to answer to their charge.
