“I was pleased with Tia’s mental toughness and positivity this weekend, it’s been something we’ve been trying to work on the past few weeks and this was certainly a step in the right direction. Her race was good, but she’s capable of much more – we just need to piece everything together. Tia had a very slow start but still managed to make it up in the later stages of the race and achieve a new personal best. Being able to set new personal bests off of poorly-executed races is certainly encouraging on the physical side of things – we’ll shift our focus to fixing her starts and preparing her for the championship parts of the season,” said Lakehead’s sprinting coach Joe McDonough
Next up, The Lakehead Track & Field team will be traveling to Winnipeg, Manitoba to compete in the 2018 Bison Classic on February 2nd – 3rd.
