Minor midget Kings off to Peterborough for Tournament of Champions

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay minor midget Kings are heading to Peterborough to take part in the Tournament of Champions event in the southern Ontario community.

Thunder Bay takes to the ice Friday morning for their opener as they square off with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

The Burlington Eagles will then provide the opposition later in the day in a 7 p.m. start.

Saturday sees the Kings tangling with the host Peterborough Petes at 9:45 a.m. before they conclude round robin action at 8:15 p.m. with a match-up vs. the Markham Waxers.

A total of 20 teams will be competing in the minor midget group.

The four division winners will advance to the semifinals Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with the two remaining sides moving on to the championship game later in the day as they vie for the title at 2:45 p.m.
