THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Out of the cold and into the snow?! That is the forecast from Environment Canada. The weather service says that there is the potential for significant snowfall starting on Wednesday and lasting until Thursday.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay
  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Nipigon – Rossport
  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Upsala – Raith

Snow possibly heavy at times is expected to move into portions of northern Ontario Wednesday night and persist into Thursday. Gusty northeast winds may result in areas of blowing snow as well.

For areas close to Lake Superior, precipitation may begin as rain or freezing rain before changing over to snow.
