KENORA – Officers from the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are currently at the scene of a sudden death in the City of Kenora. On Sunday, October 8, 2017, at approximately 12:40 pm, police received a call of a possible body in the water of Lake of the Woods at the Main Street dock.

Police attended and located a male deceased in the water.

The man is described as an Indigenous male, possibly in his 40’s, approximately 5’10”-6′ tall, short brown hair with grey in it, slender build, with light facial hair-goatee style and a small mole in the middle of his forehead.   He is wearing a black Sierra Designs windbreaker style jacket, dark blue wind pants, and low cut beige hiker style shoes.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information about the male is asked to call the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
