Second Arrest Made in Limbrick Serious Assault

THUNDER BAY – The TBPS Community Response Team were successful in locating a second male that was wanted in relation to the October 1, 2017, Assault in the Limbrick and James Street area that sent a twenty-year-old male to the hospital.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on October 4, 2017, the suspect was observed walking on University Drive.

He was approached by officers and arrested without incident.

Daniel Simon Shawinimash, twenty-four-years of age appeared in court this morning on Aggravated Assault and Robbery charges.

Shawinimash was remanded into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators continue to work with the victim in this assault.

There has been no report on the condition of the victim since the last report that he remains in serious condition.
