KENORA – “Our government is investing in community infrastructure throughout the nation to ensure families continue to benefit from safe, modern and accessible public facilities and spaces. This funding, provided to Wabaseemoong Independent Nation, will support vital upgrades at the Thomas Land Sr. Memorial Arena and will help improve quality of life for the whole community,” says Bob Nault, Member of Parliament for Kenora.

Nault’s comments come at an announcement of a FedNor investment for the community of Wabaseemoong Independent Nation which will benefit from a modernized arena as a result of a $54,000 investment from the Government of Canada.

The funding was announced today by the Honourable Bob Nault, Member of Parliament for Kenora, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedNor.

This FedNor investment will be used to modernize the Thomas Land Sr. Memorial Arena by installing new seating, upgrading washroom facilities and replacing the cooling system and concrete foundation required to maintain a safe and quality ice surface that is fully accessible to everyone.
