Police make big drug bust at southside hotel

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police were very busy over the past twenty-four hours. Police report that on the 8th of July 2017 just after 12:00 pm Thunder Bay Police Service Officers attended at a south-side hotel for a disturbance.

As a result of the initial complaint the Intelligence Unit executed two Controlled Drug and Substances Act Search Warrants.

Police report that more than $178,000 in illegal narcotics were seized including Crystal Methamphetamine, Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, Cocaine, Oxycodone pills, Xanax Pills, Psilocybin and Cannabis Resin.

A loaded shotgun, various imitation handguns and machine guns, and body armour were also located.

Facing numerous drug trafficking and weapons charges along with breach of probation is Mark BAX 39 years of Thunder Bay.

Facing charges of trafficking cocaine and unsafe storage of a firearm is Amanda DESAULNIERS 23 years N.F.A.

Both have been remanded into custody.
