Amazing Display of Fireworks

THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay celebrated July 1st with a bang. There was a great fireworks show to close off the day at Marina Park.

The show was loud and pleased the very large crowd who was on site to witness the display.

Across the city there was a wide choice of options for residents and visitors to take in for the long weekend.

Up on Mount McKay the Fort William First Nation hosted their annual Pow Wow which had a special visit from the Spirit Walkers who had finished their walk from Long Lac seeking prayer and peace.

Across the city many neighbourhoods enjoyed picnics and fireworks as well.

Thunder Bay’s Marina Park brought people together, under the watchful eye of security and Thunder Bay Police.

At the close of the day, exiting Marina Park, one of the TBPS officers, with his police unit was on what could only be described as a very positive and heartfelt effort to reach out to the public. His politeness and engagement had families stopping by to get pictures of their children with the police unit as the officer clearly demonstrated how to build a solid relationship especially between our Indigenous population and police.
