Thunder Bay Police Investigating Death on Southside

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are investigating the death of a male on the southside of the city. Police report that just before 5:00PM they arrived on the scene at the intersection of Arthur Street and South Marks Street. The call came as a result of a 911 call.

A seriously injured male was on the ground at the scene in the 300 Block of Marks Street South.

Police escorted two ambulances to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. After arrival at the TBRHSC, the male victim was pronounced dead.

The scene is blocked off by police, and the Criminal Investigation Unit is at the scene. Marks Street between Arthur Street and Ridgeway Street has been closed to the public by police.

Police state that there is no apparent danger to local residents, and that they are escorting people too and from their homes as needed.

This investigation is in its early stages. Police have not reported if they are treating the scene where the male victim was found as a crime scene.
