THUNDER BAY – The late season ice storm is adding to the work – and budget cost for the Thunder Bay Roads Crew.

The City advises: With a freezing rain warning in effect, the City is reminding all residents to take extra care when moving throughout the City. Some delays in services may be experienced.

City Roads crews have been out since 10 pm last night sanding icy roads. They continue to address arterial and collector roads.

Sidewalk sanding on arterial and collector roads commenced at 3 am this morning and will continue throughout the day.

Road Manager Brad Adams advises that areas which were previously cleaned will have to be re-cleaned following this late season storm.

Residents are asked to take extra precautions when driving today.

Thunder Bay Hydro is reporting outages across the city, Westfort, Northwood, and downtown Port Arthur have all had power outages today. Heavy ice on power lines and trees are causing many of the reported outages.
