WINNIPEG – Lakehead Wrestling had three athletes, Marco Palermo (54kg), Kevin Leatherdale (61kg) and Jessica Bershatsky (51kg), compete in the U SPORTS wrestling championships this weekend. All three wrestlers place in the top 6 of the Championships.

Marco Palermo placed first in the 54kg weight class along side being named first team all star. Marco also received the U SPORTS Men’s Rookie of the Year and won all four of his matches by technical superiority, including his final match 10-0.

Kevin Leatherdale placed 5th in the 61kg weight class, defeating Charles Cook of the Calgary Dinos 14-4 and Jessica Bershatsky placed 6th at 51kg.
