OTTAWA – SPORTS – The Thunderwolves women’s basketball team (4-8) lost to the Ottawa Gee-Gees Friday night 69-45.

Coach Kreiner says, “Really tough one for us tonight. We started well, running and doing what we do well but Ottawa did a great job taking away our strengths and ultimately they were way tougher then us tonight. We had a lot good looks that we normally make but they were too early in the clock and didn’t get enough second chance opportunities.”

Ottawa took a quick lead within the first few minutes of the game that left the ‘Wolves chasing. With their shots not falling, the ‘Wolves trailed 32-22 at the half.

Lakehead continued to struggle offensively and the Gee-Gees out rebounded them for the remainder of the game.

The Gee-Gees pushed their lead, extending it by 24 at the end of the fourth quarter and finished off the game 69-45.

Rachel Webber and Bridget O’Reilly both put up 10 points each. Lily Gruber-Schulz had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

The ‘Wolves will take on the Carleton Ravens tomorrow at 6:00pm.
