GRAND RAPIDS, Minn.  – The Thunder Bay Tim Hortons bantam A Queens returned to the win column Saturday after recording a pair of victories at the Star of the North tournament in Grand Rapids, Minn.

They began with a solid 10-2 triumph over the Alexandria Cardinals before finishing with a 3-1 decision over the Lakeville Panthers.

In the one-sided triumph over Alexandria, the Queens skated out to a 2-0 lead after one on markers by Mackenzie Cambly and Olivia Cava.

Thunder Bay outscored the Cardinals 4-1 in the middle session to go up 6-1 on efforts from Jada Leblanc, Reese Coffey, Isabella Badanai and Gaby Andreacchi.

They then put the game away in the third with markers compliments of Grace Grosjean, Leblanc, Coffey and Emma Johnston.

Badanai also dished out three assists in the win.

The Queens outshot Alexandria 32-14 with Marissa Brosseau picking up the win in net.

In the match-up with Lakeville, Badanai connected on the power play in the second stanza as she drove to the net from the corner and banged in her own rebound.

Cambly notched the game-winner with 7:38 to go in the contest with an assist going to Coffey following a scramble in front.

Leblanc then added some insurance as she finished off the work of Johnston and Andreacchi following a nice give-and-go off the cycle.

Brosseau picked up another victory in goal for her side.

The Queens will now meet the Eden Prairie Eagles Sunday at 12:40 p.m.
