Busy Weekend for Police – Stabbings, Robberies and Accidents

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police were busy overnight. A robbery of a Mac’s Convenience Store on Arthur Street happened at about 02:00AM EST. Police state that a male teenager reportedly entered the store armed with a weapon and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect reportedly left on foot. He was wearing, at the time of the robbery, a green hoodie or sweater. There were no physical injuries reported from the robbery.

There was also a double stabbing overnight. Police responded to a Windsor Street address at about 04:00AM EST. At the scene there were to males who were suffering from stab wounds to their faces.

Police are continuing their investigation of both instances.

Since Friday, Thunder Bay Police have responded to 142 incidents. These include seventy traffic related calls, forty-one quality of life calls, which are alcohol or drug related in most cases. There were twelve violent incidents which police responded to as well.
