Social Services Plans for Cheque Distribution If Postal Dispute Happens

Thunder Bay District Social ServicesTHUNDER BAY – The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) would like to announce that regardless of the status of the postal disruption, Ontario Works monthly social assistance recipient cheques for the month of July will be mailed out.

 If a postal strike or lockout is in effect and cheque recipients have not received their mail by June 29th, cheques will be available at TBDSSAB offices for pick up on June 30th between 1:00-4:00 PM. If you do not know who to contact, please call our main office at (807) 766-2111 or toll free: (877) 281-2958. All cheque recipients must show valid government issued identification in order to pick up a cheque.

 Vendors providing services to TBDSSAB should refer frequently to the website at www.tbdssab.on.ca for detailed information about invoice procedures, cheque pickup, and updates.

Please note that throughout the postal disruption clients of TBDSSAB remain responsible to provide the required documentation, payments, or information to be granted or maintain eligibility for benefits, tenancy, or services.
