TBaytel Dividend of $17.25 Million

THUNDER BAY – BUSINESS – Tbaytel’s annual general meeting was held on April 26, 2016, where it was announced that in addition to the $17.25 million 2016 fixed annual dividend, there will be an additional performance dividend payment of $135,800 based on Tbaytel’s 2015 performance.

“Over the course of the last year, I have seen how the hard work and dedication of Tbaytel’s knowledgeable and skilled workforce has helped Tbaytel thrive in what is becoming an increasingly competitive marketplace,” says Tbaytel Municipal Service Board Chair Jack Jamieson. “Based on Tbaytel’s operating results from 2015, the company is well positioned to once again contribute the dividend to the City of Thunder Bay, a contribution that is invaluable to our city and community.”

Tbaytel also released its 2015 report to the community at the annual general meeting, which provides a summary of the company’s key activities throughout 2015 and a report on the company’s financial performance.

“Throughout 2015, one of Tbaytel’s main areas of focus was to continue to find innovative ways of providing our customers with an exceptional experience while delivering on our commitment to support our city and region,” says Tbaytel president and CEO Dan Topatigh. “Our organization completed a number of strategic priorities in 2015 and I am pleased to now be able to share the collective accomplishments of our employee base with the rest of our community.”

In 2015, Tbaytel successfully launched its LTE network in Thunder Bay and expanded LTE service to key markets throughout northwestern Ontario to deliver faster mobile data speeds than was possible previously. The company also made significant advancements in the delivery of advanced broadband technology through a partnership between The City of Thunder and Thunder Bay Hydro, which enabled Tbaytel to implement an accelerated deployment strategy of Tbaytel Fibre to more neighbourhoods throughout Thunder Bay.
