Garage Fire Knocked Down on South Side

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Fighters were able to put down a garage fire that started this afternoon. At approximately 3 PM on April 9, 2016, Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a garage fire in the 300 block area of Finlayson and Heron streets. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames from a small single car detached garage.

Access was obtained through the back alley and an attack line was advanced. The situation was quickly brought under control with no damage to adjacent structures.

The garage was empty at the time, but sustained considerable damage throughout.

Cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
