Canadian Athlete Hannibal Challenges Boxing Legend Ray Jones Jr.

OTTAWA – SPORTS – Great North Wrestling wrestler “HANNIBAL” aka former Canadian National Champion and Olympic Trails Silver medalist in Amateur Wrestling Devon Nicholson has entered a once in a lifetime contest straight out of the movie “Rocky!”

On March 20th “UR Fight” will present a live Pay Per View from the celebrity theater in Phoenix AZ featuring a quadruple main event that will include an MMA re-match between UFC originals Dan “The Beast” Severn and Ken Shamrock, a grappling match between former UFC stars Chael Sonnen and Michael Lisping, as well as a pro wrestling match between Kurt Angle and Ray Mysterio Jr.

Rounding out the unusual card will be a special boxing match between Roy Jones JR, who has held World Titles in numerous different divisions taking on a “Fan” with a prize of 100k on the line if the fan is able to win the bout or knock Roy Jones JR out.

According UR Fights official Facebook page the company has already received “thousands upon thousands” of entries for the contest and are in the process of reviewing them all.  One entrant into the unusual contest that many Canadian wrestling fans would be happy to see take the boxing legends challenge is Devon “HANNIBAL” Nicholson, who posted an entry video this week on his “The HANNIBAL TV” YouTube Channel which has been getting a lot of reaction.

Nicholson, who currently resides in Ottawa has been in the pro wrestling business since 2001 and as wrestled for such companies and WWE, TNA Impact Wrestling, IWA & WWC Puerto Rico, and All Star Wrestling in the UK.  He also has an extensive amateur wrestling background and has been training in MMA for years.  There is no doubt Nicholson is a good athlete and a tough customer, known for absorbing very real punishment in the pro wrestling ring but it remains to be seen whether he will make it to the Fan voting round and the chance at being voted into the dream match by the public.
