THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Border Cats Baseball, a sure sign that spring is headed to Northwestern Ontario.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats have announced that Danny Benedetti will be returning as Field Manager for the 2016 Northwoods League season.

Benedetti, a former catcher, played with the Border Cats in 2007 and 2008 and was a member of Thunder Bay’s Northwoods League Championship team in ’08.

The 29-year old native of Long Beach, California, led the Cats to a 33-38 record last season and a fifth place finish in the North Division, one spot away from a playoff berth.
