THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The St. Joseph’s Foundation has been informed of a local telephone scam regarding the Big Split 26 draw, as well as potentially various other lotteries and draws within the area.

Individuals are called, telling them they won cash and a car, and that to claim the prize they need to pay the insurance before the prize can be delivered. The caller insists that the person keep the winnings secret and not tell anyone.

The number identified on call display is 1-876-886-4594 (but other numbers have been used).

St. Joseph’s Foundation Big Split 26 is a 50/50 draw that takes place every 2 weeks. No car is awarded with this prize. Winners are notified by an identified St. Joseph’s Foundation staff person.

If you are called claiming to be a winner, DO NOT give out any personal or credit card information.  It is best you hang up, and report the call to the police.

If you think you are a winner in the Big Split 26 draw, all winner names are posted on the St. Joseph’s Foundation website and the SJFTB Facebook page, or you can call the office at 768- 4440 to verify.
