SIJHL Announces Schedule Changes

SIJHL HockeyTHUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday new dates and times for a number of games that were postponed earlier this season.

The Oct. 13 contest between the English River Miners and Fort Frances Lakers will now be held on Sunday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. CT at Ice for Kids Arena.

Monday, Jan. 4 is the new date for the English River – Thunder Bay contest that was called off back on Nov. 20. That match-up features a 7:30 p.m. ET face-off at the Fort William Gardens.

As for the Nov. 24 game that was postponed between the Miners and Dryden GM Ice Dogs, it will now be held on Tuesday, March 15 and is slated to get underway in a 7 p.m. start at Ear Falls Arena.

Meanwhile the North Stars – Miners game scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 3 at the Fort William Gardens will now begin four hours earlier at 3:30 p.m., which will allow fans to also attend the Rogers Hometown Hockey festivities in Thunder Bay that evening.

A new date for Wednesday’s game (Dec. 16) between the North Stars and Lakers that was called off due to inclement weather and poor highway travel conditions will be announced once finalized.

PREVIOUSLY POSTPONED – Game # 55 – Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 – Dryden @ English River
NEW DATE – Tuesday, March 15, 2016 – GM Ice Dogs @ Miners – 7:00 p.m. CT – Ear Falls Arena

START TIME CHANGE – Game # 79 – Sunday, Jan. 3, 2015 – English River @ Thunder Bay
NEW TIME – Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 – Miners @ North Stars – 3:30 p.m. ET – Fort William Gardens
