Ottawa (2-0) and Carleton (2-0) defeated Nipissing and Laurentian last weekend in Ottawa.

Thunderwolves Coach Jon Breiner states, “Ottawa and Carleton are both tough defensive teams that are well coached. Both teams have great post players that will require us to pay major attention to. They are also shooting the three well, which is another tough challenge. 6’1 guard Catherine Traer of Ottawa is one of the most talented players in the CIS and will be a handful while 6’3 post Heather Lindsay is one of the most dominant posts in the country. We need to get back to playing consistent and hard for 40 minutes while enjoying what we do.”
Lakehead Men (1-1)

After splitting last week’s series against Guelph, the men’s team is up against the CIS #1 Gee-Gees (2-0) and #2 Ravens (2-0).

Coach Manny Furtado comments, “We are going to quickly find out how we match up against the two best teams in the country. Ottawa and Carleton have been the two most dominant teams recently in men’s basketball and it’s no different this year. Lakehead has some history with these 2 teams, and I hope our guys realize that and take it personally.”
