Thunder Bay Kings Set for Busy Weekend of Hockey Action

THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – It will be a busy weekend for the Thunder Bay AAA Kings as three of their clubs will be away in competition. The major and minor midget Kings are off to the Philadelphia suburb of Aston, Penn., for the third round of North American Prospects Hockey League action while the peewee Kings will be in Duluth, Minn. to take part in Gales of November tournament.

Game action for the major midgets begins Friday at 12:15 p.m. vs. HC Dallas.

Two more tilts is on the under-18 team’s slate Saturday starting with an 8:15 a.m. encounter with the Madison Capitols before tangling the Arizona Bobcats at 6:15 p.m.

The Kings then have one game Sunday against the Philadelphia Little Flyers at 2:20 p.m. before squaring off against the Rocky Mountain Roughriders Monday at 9:15 a.m.

As for the minor midget Kings, their first game also goes against HC Dallas as they take on that organization’s under-16 squad at 4:15 p.m. Friday.

The Everett Jr. Silvertips from Washington State provides the competition for the U-16 Kings Saturday at noon.

Sunday sees the club meet the Philadelphia’s U-16s at 8:15 a.m. before they wrap-up the day against the Madison U-16s in an 8:45 p.m. start.

Thunder Bay then finishes up game action Monday at 11:30 a.m. vs. the New York Aviators.

As for the peewee Kings, they have four round robin contests on the slate starting off with an 8 p.m. meeting vs. Duluth East Friday night.

The St. Paul Capitals provide the opposition in their initial game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. before finishing off with a 6:30 p.m. face-off against the Hermantown Hawks.

The peewee Kings then wrap-up divisional play Sunday at 9 a.m. as they take on the White Bear Lake Bears.
