THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Thunder Bay is under foggy conditions this morning. The fog is expected to dissipate later this morning.

At 07:00AM Environment Canada has issued Weather Advisories for some northern regions of Ontario.

There are Weather Advisories for Fort Hope – Webiquie – Landsdowne House – Marten Falls / Ogoki along with Pickle Lake and Cat Lake.

Freezing Drizzle Advisory in effect for:

  • Fort Hope – Lansdowne House – Ogoki
  • Pickle Lake – Cat Lake

A long lasting period of freezing drizzle is expected or occuring.

Conditions are favourable for the development of freezing drizzle as temperatures hover slightly below the freezing mark this morning. Freezing drizzle has affected some locales, including Pickle Lake. Temperatures are expected to rise above zero later this morning and end the freezing drizzle.

Wasaya Airways has issued a travel alert to passengers. “We advise all our guests travelling with us today of possible delays, misconnects, and cancellations due to poor weather forecast for Northwestern Ontario. We are presently seeing dense fog and low ceilings in the Thunder Bay, Red Lake, Pickle Lake & Sioux Lookout areas. Throughout the day we could see some snow fall and freezing rain in many Northern communities.”
