Lake Superior Weather AlertsTHUNDER BAY – Weather – There is a strong wind warning in effect for Western and Eastern parts of Lake Superior and Lake Nipigon as well as on Lake of the Woods. For Lake Superior, today winds will be forecast to be northwest 15 knots backing to southwest 15 this morning then increasing to southwest 20 this afternoon. Wind veering to northwest 25 this evening then diminishing to northwest 15 overnight. Wind increasing to northwest 20 Thursday morning and to northwest 25 Thursday afternoon.
This will generate waves of up to two metres in size.
By Friday the Marine Forecast is calling for more wind and larger waves.
