FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – Fort William First Nation is excited to host their annual Pow Wow, on the new grounds located at Anemki Wajiw – Mount McKay; winner of the City of Thunder Bay Clean, Green and Beautiful and Lake Superior Magazine Best of Lake Award.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is Honouring our Women; to pay special recognition to the central role they play as life givers/water carriers and care takers within the family and society as a whole.

This event is held every year to celebrate Fort William First Nation’s vibrant Ojibwe culture and traditions.

12:30 p.m.-Grand Opening of Pow Wow Grounds with ribbon cutting and cake.
1:00 p.m.-Opening Ceremony and Grand Entry.

Livestream Coverage of Fort William First Nation Pow Wow

For the third year, NetNewsLedger will be carrying the Fort William First Nation Pow Wow Live. This is a special year, as the new Anemki Wajiw – Mount McKay Pow Wow Grounds are holding the official grand opening on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend over the course of the 3 days, which begins with the warm ups on June 26th and will conclude on Sunday with the retiring of the flags at 6:00 p.m.
