Road Closure

THUNDER BAY – Road Closures – June 19, 2015 – The walking trail on the north side of the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway from Island Drive east to the lakeshore will close to the public as of Thursday, June 25 while the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) dredges the floodway.

The LRCA, which is responsible for dredging the floodway and owns the property on either bank, has indicated the fill will need to be stored on the trail until it’s hauled away in the fall.

The north bank will remain closed to the public until the dredging is complete and the fill has been removed. The City will issue a statement when the trail reopens.

The walking trail on the south side of the floodway between Island Drive and the lakeshore will not be affected by the dredging work, and will remain open to the public.

Please contact the LRCA at 344-5857 for more information.
