Thunder Bay Police Make Arrest after Child Pornography Investigation

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service have made an arrest in a child pornography investigation. The Thunder Bay Police Cyber Crime Unit started an investigation in April 2015 after identifying suspected child pornography images and videos on a file sharing network.

A preliminary investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on an apartment located in the 1200 block of Victoria Ave East on June 9, 2015.

As a result of the search, Thunder Bay Police Service officers arrested the occupant of the residence just after 9:30AM EDT. Officers seized a desktop computer, laptop, tablets, and several storage devices for further examination.

Robert James Christiansen, a fifty-year-old has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography, and Make Available Child Pornography.

Christiansen appeared in court today and has been released with a June 23rd, 2015 court date.
