Thunder Bay Police Take Down Suspect at Gun Point

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service officers were busy early this morning. Just after 4:00AM EDT Police Officers responded to a disturbance call at a Grenville Street address. Enroute to the call, officers were advised the call had been upgraded to a weapons call.

Officers arrived on the scene and were advised by residents that the individual had left the home, and that he had apparently been brandishing a knife.

Thunder Bay Police report that a man who matched the description of the suspect had been seen on Morse Street.

Police responded, taking a thirty-five year old suspect into custody. The individual was uncooperative with police and was arrested at gun point.

The suspect was taken to the Balmoral Police Station. He faces charges of possession of weapons dangerous to the public.

The man will appear in court later today. Police report that a thirty-three-year old woman sustained minor injuries during the altercation at the Grenville Street home.

Witnesses and other individuals involved in this incident were reportedly intoxicated and uncooperative with police.
