THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – UPDATED – The Extreme Cold Alert in effect for the southern parts of Northwestern Ontario are continued by Environment Canada.

The weather for the Thunder Bay region for today: Sunny. Increasing cloudiness this afternoon. Wind becoming southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 late this afternoon. High minus 12. Wind chill minus 40 this morning and minus 27 this afternoon.

Tonight

Cloudy. Periods of snow beginning early this evening. Amount 2 to 4 cm. Local blowing snow this evening. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light near midnight. Wind becoming northwest 20 before morning. Low minus 12.

Tuesday

Periods of snow ending in the morning then cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries. Clearing in the afternoon. Wind northwest 30 km/h becoming light late in the evening. Temperature falling to minus 16 in the afternoon. Wind chill minus 25.
