THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – Thunder Bay Police investigated two separate bank robberies that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the CIBC location at Victoriaville Mall and at the TD Bank on 1039 Memorial Ave.

The investigation revealed that the same person committed both robberies. As a result a 41 year old male has been arrested and charges with two counts of Robbery and 2 counts of Breach of Probation.

Thunder Bay Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

Thunder Bay Police responded very quickly to a robbery that had just taken place at the CIBC Bank located at Victoriaville Mall.

Police received a call that a male had entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The male left the bank with a small quantity of cash and then the police were called at 2:35 p.m by the staff.

The first officers were on scene at 2:36 p.m. looking in the area for a male matching the descriptors of the suspect. Unfortunately the male was not located.

Police are releasing images of the suspect who is described as a Caucasian male approximately 5’11” tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a grey toque, a dark jacket, jeans and a grey shirt.
