“Well a nice rest and a refreshed team proved to be a recipe for success,” said coach Chris Green, whose team had played their third game in as many days. “The team was especially committed today and wanted to dedicate this game.”

Lakehead continued their improved efficient play, as they limited their hitting errors to 22, with an overall success rate of 22% on their attempts at the net.

Kailan Robinson came up with some critical kills and tough serves in the final set, finishing the match with 17 kills and just 5 errors on 41 swings. Robinson also led the ‘Wolves in digs with 18.

Jen Casey racked up 22 kills on the day, while Rheanna Geisel had 3 blocks at the net with 4 kills on 9 attempts.

Jasmine Fox and Jessica Korchak had 3 service aces each, keeping the Windsor offense on its heels.

“From the first set there was little question we were playing well and all cylinders were firing,” commented Green post game. “Masters had great passing and hitters could not miss. A let down in the 3rd ruffled a perfect afternoon and we had 2 swings to win the 3rd.”

Master finished the game with 43 assists and 13 digs of her own, in addition to a couple blocks at the net.

“The girls had a mission to win out this weekend. They battled in the fourth and kept stable and confident. Jasmine Fox broke it open with her serving and Breanne Hilhorst’s great defence kept us in the game as well. We were focused and committed today. As coaches we are proud of their success this weekend.”

The women’s team will return home to play the Waterloo Warriors twice next weekend.
