THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – It is March that it is said can predict weather. The adage, “In like a lion, out like a lamb” is March’s story. For Canadians, January has come in like a huge polar bear with cold, snow, and in the Toronto, Montreal regions, freezing rain.

Northern Ontario is in the tight grip of Arctic weather. Temperatures this morning in Thunder Bay factoring in the windchill are below -40c. Outside activities are harsh today.

The only region in Northwestern Ontario not under a weather alert is Sandy Lake.

Shelter House on George Street was full last night.

Roads in the city are slippery – partly over vehicles with hard tires, and partly from the cold.
