THUNDER BAY – LIVING – SHIFT Thunder Bay’s Young Professionals Network are pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual Drive Away Hunger was a success with collecting 590 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA).

With 14 SHIFTers split into 4 teams, the venture began at 6:00 PM on Tuesday evening when teams began walking the streets in Current River.

After two hours of door-to-door collecting, enough food was donated by the community to fill the back of a truck to help support the RFDA. The summer months prove to be the time in need for donations, and the SHIFTers of Thunder Bay were proud to have collected such an ample amount of food to help the community. Along with the SHIFTers, the residents in the neighborhood also played a huge part with the event – thank you to everyone that donated food as the volunteers knocked on your door!
A Big thank-you also goes out to the sponsors BDO Canada Ltd and Sleeping Giant Brewing Co, as well as Kerry Berlinquette for supporting this event. The 3rd Annual Drive Away Hunger brought the community together for a common goal – helping those in need.
