CANMORE – Crime News – Maggie made sure that no one was getting a “Rocky Mountain High”.

On January 29 at approximately 1233 hours members of the Cochrane Integrated and Roving Traffic Unit were conducting traffic duties on Highway 1 near Lake Louise., Alberta
An east-bound vehicle was stopped for a vehicle equipment violation.
The two occupants of the vehicle were detained for a Controlled drugs and substances act investigation during which police service dog “Maggie” was deployed and provided a positive indication of the presence of a controlled substance within the vehicle.
Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a subsequent search led to the discovery of 10 pounds of Cannabis Marihuana hidden in various locations within the vehicle.  The value of the seizure at street level gram sale is $68,000.00
Two males aged 19 years old from Vernon, BC were charged with Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.  They were released and scheduled to appear in Canmore Provincial court on April 16, 2014.
