Thunder Bay Police Arrest Kevin Jones

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – On August 21, 2013 Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested a 37 year old Brampton Ontario man who was in possession of approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine. This stemmed from an investigation that was initially commenced in April 2013 on two males who were believed to be trafficking cocaine in the city.

Officers received information that a male was in possession of a package. This individual was located as he was walking along Mountdale Avenue. The suspect’s identity was confirmed by police and he was arrested without incident.

The suspect was searched incident to arrest and a package containing approximately 2,923 grams of cocaine was located in a duffle bag that the male was carrying. The street value of the cocaine is approximately $292,300.00.

Investigation revealed that the male had flown to Thunder Bay from Toronto earlier in the day, and was staying at a local hotel.

Kevin Jones 37 years of age a resident of Brampton Ontario is facing criminal charges of;

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking s. 5(2) CDSA

Jones has been held in custody and had a court appearances on August 22, 2013. He has been remanded into custody and will appear in Thunder Bay court on Friday August 23, 2013.
