SAULT STE MARIE – Crimebeat – The Sault Ste Marie Police report, “City Police officers responded to an accident with injuries on March 10th at 7:15 p.m. Upon initial investigation, it was learned that a silver coloured Volkswagen driven by 19 year old MacAuley Bean of 260 Lakeshore Drive in Desbarats was proceeding west on Trunk Rd. when it came into collision with a  black Volkswagen which was proceeding south on South Market Street at that intersection.  

A female passenger in the black Volkswagen was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries and was later released after further examination.  

Further investigation by Police revealed that Mr. Bean had purposely driven through a red light at the intersection and was subsequently charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
