THUNDER BAY – Domenico Aliquò Cultural Association of Reggio Calabria, Italy has presented an international award, Premio Internazionale of the Professionisti di Calabria nel Mondo to local artists and writers: Pasquale Scarcello, John Potestio, and Frank Pullia.

The award was for achievement in scholarship and the arts.

At a ceremony at Castello “Gioacchino Murat” in Pizzo on September 10th, 2012, Cav. Filippo Maria Aliquò presented a commemorative ceramic plate, designed by Professoressa Aurelia Nania. Other recipients were Pasqualino Bongiovanni, an emerging, young international poet, and Domenico Siclari, a published author and Professor of Administrative Law. Both are from Italy. The event was organized by Architect Giuseppe Bruzzese, responsible for international relations of the Association Aliquò.

Pasquale Scarcello is Maestro d’arte and president of the Thunder Bay International Fine Arts Association (TBIFAA). The Association promotes the arts and artists in Northwestern Ontario and throughout the world.

John Potestio and Frank Pullia are writers, thinkers, and leaders of the community of Northwestern Ontario.
