Alberta clipper will impact Red Lake and parts of region with snow

RED LAKE – October 9 2012 – Environment Canada reports, “An Alberta clipper situated near Lake of the Woods is expected to move towards Lake Superior by Tuesday morning. An area of wet snow is affecting the Red Lake area, with rain being reported in the Sioux Lookout area. As Northwestern Ontario will be on the cold side of this disturbance, temperatures are expected to drop to near the zero degree mark this evening, resulting in a changeover to snow in all areas.

Latest indications suggest a general snowfall of 2 to 5 cm expected by Tuesday morning.

Motorists should expect deteriorating winter driving conditions tonight as the precipitation turns over to snow, and allow extra time to reach their destination.
