THUNDER BAY – “Ontario Government’s support will equip our world-class researchers at Lakehead University with much needed infrastructure. Research and scholarly activities at Lakehead have yielded, and will continue to create, new knowledge and innovation in strategic areas, such as bioenergy and biorefining, to speed up regional economic development,” states Dr. Rui Wang, Vice President Research, Economic Development & Innovation.
With the province’s support of $219,195, Dr. Sudip Rakshit, Lakehead University’s Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Bioenergy and Biorefining, is using innovative techniques to overcome the major bottlenecks in the production of biofuels and renewable chemicals from organic materials. This will help overcome our dependence on petro-based products.
