Prime Minister off to Switzerland for the World Economic Summit

THUNDER BAY – The Prime Minister will be off to Switzerland for the World Economic Summit following the Crown First Nations Gathering in Ottawa. The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, which runs Jan. 25-29 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. Prime Minister Harper is scheduled to deliver a speech to the forum on the dangers and risks facing the world economy.

The Canadian team will include Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty, Canadian Trade Minister Ed Fast, and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.

Governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney, who is also the chairman of the Financial Stability Board will also attend.

The meeting is already underway in Switzerland.
