Thunder Bay Police investigating a robbery of southside convenience store

crimebeatTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday night at a south side convenience store. Police report, “Just before 8:30PM Thursday evening, the accused in this incident is alleged to have attempted to take money out of a cash register. Police state the store owner slammed the cash register drawer on her fingers. The accused then attempted to grab a second cash register off the counter. A brief struggle between the owner and the accused resulted in the cash register being dropped and the accused being pushed out of the store.

The owner was able to keep the accused out of the store for a period of time before she pushed her way back in through the door and grabbed the cash register. The accused assaulted the owner as he attempted to prevent her from leaving the store with the register.

The accused left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police are looking for a native Canadian female approximately 5’11” tall with a thin build. She has straight brown shoulder length hair with a light brown complexion and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans, a short grey jacket and running shoes.
