22 year old male is back in custody

THUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The actions of a suspect in a recent Mac’s Milk robbery are likely to result in a time behind bars while awaiting trial. Thunder Bay Police Service report that a 22 year old male is back in custody following an attempted escape on Thursday afternoon at 3:33PM. Thunder Bay Police Court Officers were transporting a prisoner from the Thunder Bay Police Service cell block to the Arthur Street courthouse. It is alleged that the handcuffed prisoner ran from the officers as he was being escorted form the cruiser into the courthouse.

Uniformed officers pursued Ryan Deluney on foot until he was apprehended within minutes by Patrol Officers in the area on South Selkirk St.

The suspect has now been charged with Escaping from Lawful Custody, and Breach of Probation. He has been remanded to the District Jail for video court on November 28, 2011 to answer to these new charges and the previous charges stemming from the reported armed robbery at the Mac’s Convenience Store on November 23, 2011.
