crimebeatTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are reporting on two incidents over the past twenty-four hours. A 34 year old male remains in the hospital in fair condition with stab wounds after an altercation. Just after 9:30 p.m. police were called to the 200 block of Simpson Street on a report of a stabbing and found the accused unconscious.

Two males were in the laneway having an argument when a knife was pulled and the victim was stabbed a number of times. The victim defended himself and punched his assailant knocking him out. Both men were taken to hospital. The accused was medically cleared and is in police custody and charged with Aggravated Assault. The victim and the accused are known to each other.

In the second incident, a youth is in custody for an incident at Hammarskjold High School yesterday. Just after 1:30 p.m. a female and a male student were having an argument in the hallway of the school. They were interrupted by a third student who pulled a knife and threatened the female. This incident ended without any injuries.

A short time later the same female was approached and verbally threatened again by the male. A 17 year old was taken into custody a short time later at his residence. He remains in custody today charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
